So, first I think this movie should have been for kids. You can persuade adults to watch kids movies, most people aren't bringing kids to Wizard-Nazis. Second, I think a really wonderful framing device would have Sir David Attenborough as a vocal narrative for an old Newt Scamander (maybe he's reading the "real" book to Luna and Rolf's kids like A Princess Bride, maybe not) where he's reading the "book" entries and then it's the movie is showing the real story of how he got that information. So you get the sort of dry textbook entry in Attenborough's lively voice, and then young Newt (who I think Eddie Redmayne is perfectly cast as) would have the wacky or heartwrenching or dramatic or comedic adventure. So the Attenborough narrative would give a sort of ironic cast to what's happening on screen. And you can get a lot of diversity without being fucking weird and racist about it, if they tried.

The whole thing would have been a parody nature documentary, and since the world would have just come off the honey badger craze, i think it would have been really popular.

ETA: I actually would have wanted a first wizarding world war movie and Dumbledore and Grindlewald's whole gay deal, but I think the shift into this from Fantastic Beast is fucking stupid.
