That is what the secret maker thinks they're doing, but their entire metric for "self-absorbed" is "liked a fanfic that they did not realise was satire" and people rightfully are not letting that slide. From only that they're extrapolating that those readers are a "horde of soggy little dipshits who think that having someone politely point out a mistake is the literal end of the world".
Like, holy projection, Batman! That's a hell out of reach.
For the record, I don't think it's a grave sin or whatever to write parody fic, I just agree with secret maker that it is petty and mean-spirited. Sometimes we do petty and mean-spirited things that hurt no one and I think that's fine.
Clearly the secret maker doesn't think it's fine, but they also don't want to feel bad about it, so they construct this narrative where everyone who didn't get it is a shit person anyway. And people who lash out when they feel guilty instead of working on themselves are awful.
