It made sense when you considered actor chemistry. Harrison and Carrie had super sexual chemistry, they sparked everytime the characters were on screen, they crackled. Carrie and Mark were friends, but with Leia and Luke they always felt more sibling-y than the way Han-Leia burned the film to the ground with the way the characters interacted.
