I can kinda see it for Spy x Family. Loid is the one who accomplishes his goals without being noticed, and Yor is the one who slams the door open and goes to town.

I've seen this alot with m/m ships too. I used to be super active in the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure fandom and the amount of flanderization was insufferable, especially the JotaKak shippers. People always reduced Kakyoin to the "uwu soft boy" while Jotaro was the hardass.

Considering how alot of JotaKak shippers were AFAB it makes a bit of sense, I guess? We've been exposed to gender roles all our lives so I guess it just feels more comfortable for a lot of us to fit everything we see into that box? Idfk.

Oh man, this!

A lot of people make fun of CLAMP’s JotaKak doujinshi’s, understandably so. But a lot of shippers really do portray Jotaro and Kakyoin that way, so the doujinshis aren’t the out of nowhere anomaly people seem to think they are. I think people’s brain just breaks at trying to imagine any Jojo ship with stereotypical seme/uke dynamics, so that’s why the OOC way JotaKak are written feels weirder than other fandom’s m/m ships.

The typically uke and seme dynamics just feel out of place with Jotaro and Kakyoin specifically, at least to me it is. I'm totally fine with people portraying them that way and I wouldn't have the right to tell them not to anyway, but I just wish there was more variety in JotaKak stuff.
