OP (if you haven't tried it yet) you might like Strange New Worlds, too. It's bright, episodic with some arc-plots, and there's a fair amount of light-hearted comedy in there, too. There's a bit of room to breathe.

The whole holding stuff back to launch Paramount Plus with has kinda fucked us, and fucked Paramount too tbh, since they are now launching on a groundswell of ill feeling than good. We aren't even getting Prodigy on PP even when it launches, because they sold that one off to a niche cable company separate. It is a shitty thing they've done. I might not even subscribe to PP even when it launches because of that all.

If it’s not been done already, Star Trek needs a graph with something like “episodic-to-serial” and “campy-to-serious” axes for its series and movies.
