I read a glorious m-preg one time.

M-preg works well in anime fanfics, but never in anything else. I still have nightmares from Junior.

DA
The only MPreg fics I've read that I enjoyed were ovi-based and involved either aliens or dragons. But yeah, it can be hot if the writer knows what they're doing.

They can be a lot of fun, as long as it doesn't attempt to make the concept logical or go into too many technical details. Once you start trying to reason out how it would actually work, then you realize how ridiculous the premise is. So it's best for the writer to focus on the emotions, and how the pregnancy affects the plot and kind of cut to something else when it's time to talk about how the baby comes out.

Oh, I feel that!
I hate mpreg taken seriously except I don't mind for Kyou Kara Maou? I guess I can accept that demons just have other physiology????
