I'm perplexed by 'reacts' to be honest. I mean, if they don't enjoy something you enjoy, do you get annoyed? I don't know why I would want to watch someone else watch something, but maybe I am just missing something.

If the movie is one that I really, really enjoyed, and the reactor enjoys it, as well, it's fun to see someone get 'the magic' for the very first time. To see them get the joke or see them fall in love with the character you love....

I tend to only watch reacts to stuff I really liked, and only with a couple of 'reactors' who are not only fun people, but open-minded and not worried about looking 'cool'.

It's kind of like introducing a rl friend to something they've never seen, only with a YouTube reactor, I don't have to actually socialize or dust.

I love react videos but only for songs. I like to know what lyrics and production stand out to other people. I like hearing what they think of various intricacies of each song. Sometimes I go 'oh how DARE' when they don't like a song I love but it's just... in fun? IDEK how to explain it. I enjoy it.

Like OP says, sometimes they get or see something you didn't get or see when you watched it, which is really cool! Or they validate something you've been thinking but that you were alone about. I also like when people don't like something and say why, but that's me.

It's validation I guess? I don't get it either, but I can see how it would fill a niche if you need that kind of emotional feedback.
