(Anonymous) 2022-06-20 02:06 am (UTC)(link)I felt strange and guilty through the height of the pandemic because I'm on disability but I also work part time, so I was allowed to apply for the Emergency Response Benefit, which was a flat amount regardless of how much you earned at your job. It wasn't even an option to apply for a smaller amount. So for like five months while everyone was panicking, I was receiving WAY more money than I'd ever received in my life, while feeling very chill because I didn't have to manage a job, and lots of other people also weren't working so for a short while I was practically normal.
I didn't make good use of the time, but I did squirrel away like 8K in savings from those months.
