This is so sweet, I kind of want to watch this now (my watch queue is years long lol).

I'm identifying quite a bit with the dude on the left. OP, maybe it just means that there's somebody who fills the spaces you miss, and you do the same for the other -- complementary pièces if you will. Or it's just a show and there's characters we'll see ourselves in sometimes due to behaviors etc. It's alright, OP!

AYRT - I would definitely recommend it. They're only half-hour episodes, so it's very quick and easy to get through. It takes a couple episodes to get to anything at all shippy, but getting that initial run-up is ultimately a good thing for the narrative, I think.

Also, it's not actually written by Taika Watiti, despite his heavy involvement, but if you enjoy his writing style, then I'd say you'll definitely like this, because the humor is very similar. It's got his signature approach where it's like, "What if [people/thing that always has a lot of mystique surrounding it] was actually just kind of normal and derpy like stuff actually is in real life?"
