Yeah. I think each project independently does a good job of catching people up to speed, or at least takes minimal wiki-ing. There's also the legends series if you have Disney+

I didn't watch all of the movies before seeing Infinity War/Endgame, and because of that I had trouble keeping the white dudes I didn't recognize from the ones I had seen straight. (Not faceblind, but not super great with faces either.)

Agreed. At least when 'too big' means the number of projects, like you mention here. I do worry about the number of characters. Because like you also say, they're not great with character development already, and if they keep adding on people and not killing anyone off, it's only going to get worse.

If you lean toward being a bit of a completist and want to see it all, I can understand why the "too big" feeling comes in. Speaking of someone who has been a huge MCU fan but I'm just out of energy to keep up with it, which means I've stepped back and haven't really been watching anything since last year.

Yes, but. I think a lot of the enjoyment comes from spotting the Easter eggs and references and the connections. Like I'd seen most Marvel movies, but not all, plus I'd read at least some of the comics, when Civil War came out. I wouldn't say it was incomprehensible as such—like, I understood what was happening on screen—but in terms of basic narrative things like being able to describe characters and motivations, I was fully lost. You can easily follow the plot if you haven't seen them all but I don't know that plot is what makes them fun.

Exceptions exist, obviously. I was able to take my superhero-hating mom to Black Panther and she enjoyed it.

I love that it is all interconnected. Massive universes are one of my absolute favorite things. I haven't watched all the tv shows and can still follow. But I like the big universe and read up on the things I don't watch to keep up.

Agreed. I missed one of the main avengers movies, dropped of Ironman by #2, only saw two of Cap's movies, still understood wtf was going. Half the time these movies are just commercials for the next movie. At least that's how I felt about Age of Ultron.

Honestly, I binged all the Thor stuff just to get my Loki fix and I felt empty when I was done. This was years ago, back when there was only 2? Thor movies. Maybe 3. My man got about 40 minutes of screen time total.

The controls for this weren't too bad on the Wii imo, but they were awkward as fuck on Xbox 360. I tried playing on PS4 but I couldn't even make it to the shotgun house.

It's all smoke and mirrors to distract from Partygate, how badly they're fucking over Northern Ireland, how badly they're fucking up the NHS, the PPE scandal, how badly they've fucked up the cost of living crisis, the Rwanda plan, and how badly they've fucked up with Brexit. There's a lot to be angry about, so they're putting out these small stupid jingoistic things that literally nobody wants - not even people who were already adults when decimilisation occurred- because smaller bitesize things are easier for the public to conceptually get pissed off about and it becomes the focus of their anger. Fuck the Tories. Fuck them so hard.

I want Bucky to be in another movie, and I'm glad he'll get to be something other than Cap's sidekick. But ugh. I really disliked the dynamic in Falcon & Winter Soldier. I do want to see him meet Yelena.

It's not just Bucky who doesn't fit in the row of villains. Yelena was also brainwashed, so was Taskmaster. Ghost was also trained since she was a young girl. I'm hoping it's less Suicide Squad and more Birds of Prey, where they bond over their trauma's. 'How are you a villain, you had no choice? Well neither did you!'

This movie could be interesting, but I'm extremely doubtful.

I mostly remember fic with Clint Barton in the vents and it did always seem ridiculous. I can imagine the reality is not nearly as cute.

Controversial opinion alert, but... as close as Anne and Diana were, it never felt like a ship to me, or even the lifelong friendship it was touted to be in the books. Maybe because Anne was the more.... well, "forceful" isn't the right word, but she was more the leader and Diana the follower. All the daydreaming, writing, imagination, etc. seemed more like Anne's thing and Diana was just going along for the ride. Which is not to say that she didn't enjoy it, just that I doubt she would've done those things if it weren't for Anne wanting to do them.

After Anne goes to Queens and Redmond and Diana gets married, they spend less and less time together and hardly any time at all in the later books. Leslie Moore seems more like the adult BFF relationship because she's more like Anne in terms of personality and temperament. But then, in the later books once she starts having children, her personal life and friendships aren't so much the focus anymore.
