Yup. I’ve been doing embroidery for over twenty years and nothing that I’ve made looks as good as the works of art that people post on IG. It makes me happy though, so I keep at it.

I feel that way about crochet. i can do all the stitches but i have to look at the instructions ALL THE TIME and end result always looks a bit wonky.
can't knit for shit, only can do one stitch.

For stitching and embroidery i found counted crossstich patterns and a blackwork stitchalong to be really helpful. easy instructions, fast dopamine.
