Coincidentally, I just watched a YT video of Rob Pattinson breaking down his career, and he mentioned being surprised by discovering (after doing The Lighthouse) that apparently sea chanties are really popular. So IDK anon, if Rob Pattinson is to be believed, maybe they are cool!

Where were you when sea shanties were super trendy just last year? That might have died down a bit, but I get the general gist that people do still like them. Some people still put out cool covers of them, especially metal covers.

So? That still disproves them being “uncool”. Things don’t automatically become uncool just because they’re not as in vogue as they were. It takes certain conditions for something to be considered uncool.
