Re: Secrets you don't want to make...

For the past couple of years I've been a fan of a ship. I love their potential dynamics that never turned canon, love the fic and some of their usual tropes with all of my heart, I share headcanons and started writing a meta/manifesto, I love them, they make me happy, they make me cry, I think of scenarios involving them before I sleep.

But I could never tell which character I related to. Neither but both at the same time? If it's nothing like self-insert then why do I love it so much?

Recently, in the aftermath of a very good fic, I realized that they remind me of my parents' relationship. And, though I am sure they loved eachother, their relationship was ultimately damaging for my mom and I wouldn't wish anything like that on anyone.

Suddenly I can see what everyone was talking about "I don't ship them because I don't see it working in a healthy way". Yeah. Me neither? Thanks for ruining my ship, brain. It's... completely ruined now. Gotta find a new ship!
