... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and I'll try my best to use an appropriate image choice. Just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made.

I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

It always amazes me that when Virgin Books had the Doctor Who licence, it turned out two books a month, one New Adventures and one Past Doctor Adventures, of Doctor Who novels, most of which were absolute bangers (with the odd rotten one like Sleepy and Human Nature), for years. Within a year of the BBC taking the licence back in house, they'd completely destroyed the entire Doctor Who novel fandom out of sheer incompetence and boredom inducing darkness and edginess. I guess that should have been a warning for how they'd eventually treat their reboot show too.

Great, now I can't even enjoy Due South because Paul Haggis, the series creator, is a piece of shit sexual predator too. Can nobody in showbiz keep it in their damn pants!?

I am completely in love with J-Lo's song "Ain't it funny" and its music video, despite how problematic it is. I could dance forever to songs like that.

I have the same reaction to the worst "sapphic" as most people seem to have to "moist". It's not the meaning of the word that bothers me (always here for f/f book recs - especially fantasy!) but the word... itself? ("Achillean" just looks weird to me, but I don't have the same reaction to it)

I want a Star Wars spinoff about Aunt Beru, why and how did she become such a badass commando? I bet those two skeletons in ANH were actually Storm Trooper corpses and she and Owen are on the run taking down the Empire themselves!!

Ms Marvel is the, hands-down, best of the MCU TV shows. Unlike the others, I actually care about the characters and genuinely like them as people. I'm not just waiting for the next action scene, I don't find the domestic stuff to be tedious dragging space fillers, in fact when the big action set piece happened in Ep3 I felt annoyed by it for interrupting the character's actual lives. I never felt that with Wandavision, especially not Wandavision. Ugh.

I love the show Hannibal. I DON'T want a fourth season (or sequel movie). I thought the third season ended in a perfectly, despite usually hating open endings more often than not.

I'm done watching any new show with a cop or "ex military" person as a show lead. It is just fucking lazy. And they are never like classic Magnum PI or classic The A-Team, they are all moody "badasses" with a dark and troubled past who constantly reference what a hero cops and the military are. Fuck all that noise.

-- So I beg of media, please stop showing "cool" and "badass" villains, stop showing powerful villains, stop giving them power like that, and treat them like sad, pathetic, laughable, jokes of the inadequate people that they are. Especially in the Superhero genre. If we can mock Hitler as a guy who can't stop farting, and Stalin as the guy who pissed himself to death, then maybe we can mock our current real life horrors without giving them power in fiction. I swear, WW2 propaganda might have had racial issues, but at least it knew how to rob the enemy of power while doing it.

I love watching those millennial/Gen Z reaction videos on y/t. The ones where they watch old movies like Forbidden Planet and are just so so enthusiastic about them are the best.

This will probably reduce some people to a frothing rage, but I am genuinely looking forward to the new Minions movie. It looks like dumb fun, and I am more than in the mood for sheer joyful dumb fun. You may now excoriate me in comments.

The sub-genre of Sailor Moon fanfic where a male reader SI gets turned into a Senshi (OC or canon) used to be my favorite, but nobody is into it no more and all the old archive sites have all gone offline. I really should try and write one as a throwback fic, just for funsies.

Eighties British kids tv brought us many horrors, but none are worse than the diabolical badness that was Metal Mickey. Supergran was cool though.

I think the writers of Mrs Brown's Boys should be on trial for crimes against humanity, and so should the viewers of that show. Why the fuck is anyone watching that sad seventies throwback of a show?

I hate Star Trek Strange New Worlds and Star Trek Prodigy. I hate them because they are not available in my country. The two most universally loved and critically acclaimed series are both hidden and denied to me, and we get stuck with boring Discovery and divisive Lower Decks. I liked LD, but I'd have been happy to miss that to be able to keep up with the fun side of fandom with the other two. Fuck you, Paramount.

Just CGI in Grant Gustin on top of Ezra Miller, Warner Bros. At this point, it actually makes more sense to do it than to release Captain Crazyfucker's original performance. Warner's PR dept is having a hard week of it right now.

I used to dream of being a superhero, but now I'm dreaming of being a supervillain. One where I use my, hypothetical, awesome superpowers to commit global blackmail and just enforce my own standards of morality on the planet and get myself a life of comfort out of it. I know that is bad, but I feel my agenda of universal health care, trans and LGBT rights, universal basic incomes, Irish Reunification, and the death penalty for Trump and Boris Johnson would get some real traction. Damn, I wish I had superpowers.

I wouldn't mind the BBC doing some more "cozy" tv shows again. I know it is important to always be challenged, but I could do with a break just to watch something warm, cosy, and meaningless again. Just for a little bit, maybe a couple of years, until my mental health is feeling a little less fragile. The new Worzel Gummidge show is a good start, maybe more like that?

I don't know why tv and movie writers think M-preg is a comedy trope, and not horrific body horror of the highest degree. I'm thinking of Star Trek Enterprise and the movie Junior in specific here. I feel the only writer who nailed the horror of m-preg was Ridley Scott.

I'm replaying the Mass Effect trilogy and I still want to fuck Garrus Vakarian. I still feel conflicted because I'm not a xenophile, I swear!

Back when I first started playing Mass Effect, I swore that I wouldn't romance an alien because I wasn't into bestiality. I ended up sleeping with Kaidan in ME1 because I felt I had to while crushing on Saren Arterius (he was misunderstood and manipulated by the Reapers. He did nothing wrong!), then going straight for Garrus in ME2 as soon as I realised Archangel was fucking sexy.

I guess I like Turians?

Spoilers for Blue Bloods.

This is a bad show, but my grandma likes it and watching it together has become a weekly tradition for us. The only thing that I liked about this show was the marriage between Danny and Linda. I loved them; they were sweet together. When Linda died off screen between seasons 7 and 8 I was surprisingly upset, I actually cried. Years later I'm still not over it. I really miss their relationship.
