It's not that infidelity is a trope I seek to read or write, but when I think it fits characterisation, I enjoy it a lot. It's not about romanticizing anything, it's about people being people - who do all sorts of questionable shit irl. No one's ideal and unproblematic and that's what interesting, and the fandom's persistent urge to sterilize characters and narrations irks the fuck out of me.
