With this new system I've felt absolutely zero desire to comment on anything because it's just going to be buried in a thread that the OP and maybe a couple others will bother to read in full. The chance for scroller-byers to see something and comment is completely diminished. I expressed my initial concerns in one of the other poll threads earlier this week and nothing has changed. Putting it in practice just solidified my distaste for participation now. Sadly, it looks as though I'm the minority here so I'm just stuck to reading secrets with zero participation in discussion. Thanks for at least attempting to gather opinions.

:( I understand....I have to wonder why so many people are actually LIKING it. The only people I can imagine would like the new system are those who only wanna see what people said about their secrets and don't wanna bother with anyone else's.
In fact, the only people it's easier for are the people who just read without commenting...

I comment both to secrets and to other people's comments all the time- and I find that the new system makes it much easier to do so by having most of the conversation on one subject concentrated in one place rather than scattered across a dozen pages.

Granted, I'm hardly typical in my F!S habits... even under the old system I was one of the oddballs who not only looked at every secret but read or skimmed almost all of the threads. YMMV, I guess.

I agree. It's just way too much of a hassle to comment, let alone reading others' comments. I come to f!s for some quick and random "snack" not a gourmet dinner that takes hours.

As opposed to the old system where comments were buried in 10+ pages of posts?

I never used to comment on anything before because I felt like no one but a very few dedicated people (who keep using ctrl-f) would read what I had to say about a particular secret. Now I feel like more people see what I've posted because it's in a thread of others who share my interest in that secret, and I've also gotten more responses too!
