Yeah, like, real life superheroes get up at four am and go around collecting food that's about to expire, make big pots of soup and go feed hungry people. They testify about watching their family get obliterated by drone strikes when they were seven to try and stop it happening again. They escort people getting abortions past screaming people throwing shit, and sometimes get killed. They argue cases pro bono. They haven't eaten all day and give half their one meal to a random stranger who hasn't eaten in two days. They put on waders and parkas and rescue neighbors and their pets during floods.

Even the ones who put on superhero spandex go visit kids in the hospital.

If giving an inspiring speech and then punching Mitch McConnell in the face really hard could've saved US democracy, the line would've been miles long.
