(Anonymous) 2022-07-03 02:09 am (UTC)(link)Once I learned this and stopped brushing my hair (now I only comb it in the shower right after I put the conditioner in), 99% of my "frizz" problem went away. Curly hair and brushes are not friends.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-03 04:39 am (UTC)(link)I hardly ever condition it because no matter what kind I use my hair looks better for two hours or so afterwards and then turns into a flat greasy mess like I haven't washed in weeks. If my hair feels dry, I've found the best thing to do is condition it really well at the scalp, rinse just so it coats the rest of my hair, leave it in for a couple minutes, rinse again until it's all out, and then wash it again with very diluted shampoo. Sometimes when I don't bother with conditioner, I'll put a little vinegar in some water and use that as a rinse after shampooing.
If I could look polished and put together without effort, I would. As it is, I shower and wash my hair every two or three days, wear deodorant, brush my teeth three times a day, make sure my clothes are clean, and that's about it.
I wear makeup and style my hair for cosplay and Halloween.
I don't understand where normal people get the time and energy to put so much effort into a lot of stuff, but especially appearances. Good thing I'm asexual.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-04 03:48 am (UTC)(link)Your ends shouldnt be splitting form simple contact with some hairstyling tools, either. Are you not taking care of them periodically? Like with a protein treatment? If your ends are having constant contact with an abrasive surface, and had very little moisture from day to day, I could see them snapping or getting fairy knots easily, but not fraying and dropping instantaneously.
