Yes, this! It's not so much which fandom or how old they are exactly, but how they interact online/with fandom. The type of posts, sense of humor, debates, what gets people invested, it's different.

And in general what they talk about beyond fandom. I joined an 18+ discord for an anime I like specifically because I was hoping members of an 18+ server would talk about things besides how their parents are mean and how much homework they had. I left when it turned out all they talked about were their parents are mean and how much college homework they had.

That's been my experience with 18+ discords too. I would say that I long for 25+ discords, but based on my experience with people of this age range, it will contain a lot of photos of their kids playing in disneyland.
