Because of secret 7.....

[personal profile] tabaqui 2022-07-06 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm going to work shortly so hopping in here while I can.
I did not know Elliot got top surgery, and I am pretty impressed that he did this shirt-open photo in this interview. A lot of people with surgical scars (and scars for such an intensely personal and 'controversial' reason) would have declined. I think it shows a lot of courage.

Oh, I wasn't sure if he had surgery or not with the transition; I thought maybe he was naturally pretty flat-chested to start with. He looks great, though!

Obviously attractiveness is far from the most important thing in this instance, or any instance, but for the record, I don't think he's ever looked better.

He kind of reminds of Noel Fisher a little bit in those photos; both are handsome to me.

He looks really good! That last picture? Okay Eliot! Also, his abs are offending me because my ass is not going to work out hard enough/ast all to reach anything near that level.

I liked hearing about how he's doing. I'm glad.

He just looks so much more comfortable in his own skin now, you know? It's a wonderful thing to see and I couldn't be happier for him. ♥

Birthdays

[personal profile] philstar22 2022-07-06 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
What did you do for your birthday this year (or last)?

Celebrating by myself this year, going to get ears pierced, buy a swimsuit, then watch Thor 4.

(Anonymous) 2022-07-06 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I honestly couldn’t remember until I looked through my phone pictures, but my family treated me to lunch at the American Girl cafe and bought me a doll (I’m a doll collector).

Since there was still a lot of Covid, I did miniature golf and picknick in the park.

nothing. January was still pretty heavy on the covid and there's nothing you can do in the outdoors in January around here. iirc it was in the single digits that day.

I used to love having an excuse for a party and now I don't want to be around people anymore ever forever so maybe I'm done with birthdays.

What did you do for your birthday this year

Well, a major war broke out, so that was a slight distraction. I did get drinks with a few friends, which was nice, but... yeah, very weird birthday.

went to dinner, and spend more time celebrating my nephew's birthday than my own since it's 2 days after mine, he's a kid, and more likely to actually want to celebrate than my ancient self lol

Happy birthday!!!
Not even sure, not much I think. I was busy, COVID etc. I still remember when I spent an entire birthday playing videogames... Good times.

Mine is tomorrow (or, well, technically today since it's after midnight here!) and will be pretty lowkey. I'm hanging out with family, just getting some takeout (I have relatives with health conditions who aren't comfortable eating inside restaurants right now, which I totally get) and then going to a local ice cream place for dessert. Saturday is going to be my actual "birthday dinner" because the weather is supposed to be way better (it's been miserably hot here lately) and we can eat outside.

Have a great birthday! Your birthday plans sound so nice. I love going to the movies as a birthday treat!

Recently wondered why I hated my birthdays so much, so this year I didn't do anything outside of get upset at a family member because a friend had sent me cookies as a birthday gift.
Long story short: growing up with untreated narcissists, birthdays in general were unpleasant and that realization caught up with me in recent years

I went and saw The Green Knight in a theater about a month after my birthday last year, in a brief lull between covid explosions.

This year San Diego Comic Con is back on and right after my birthday, so since I took my birthday off I'll probably be frantically sewing cosplay stuff all day even though I didn't make anything new for this year, but there's always something that needs fixing or upgrading.

I just caught Covid a couple months ago and am vaxxed and boosted, and I'm really hoping I don't catch Covid at the con for my birthday, especially since I'm working a full day there.

... And because at full capacity it's probably possible to crowd surf the entire exhibit floor, and I doubt the ventilation and filtration were upgraded since way before 2019.

this year I am going to a convention in wyoming the week before my birthday and getting back the day before my birthday. on my actual birthday I'm going to dinosaur world in kentucky with my nieces and nephews (ages 2-12) with my mother and it's going to be so fun because they've never been. I haven't been since I got divorced so I would like some memories there that aren't with my ex-wife, you know? it's one of my favorite weird little places to go - all tchotchke and whimsicalshit I love it.

Well, last year I went hiking and got bit to hell and back, even a tick bite. I was pouring whatever that brand of repellent was on my arms and that did not stop them! Of course that was just one part of a 'fun' summer where in June I got a rash from the sunscreen I wore on a bike ride, oh the hike was in July (bday) and in August I got a nerve pinch in my shoulder.

My birthday is in a few weeks. I thought about taking a trip to Chicago this year but backed out (this was before the Highland Park murders). So now, don't know. I may hit another state park to hike around in. I tell myself oh I'll sleep in. The most I can manage sleeping in is to like 5 or 6!

Happy birthday!

Mine was perfect, just a relaxing day with my husband and then we had my dad over for dinner and cake. I got a silly t shirt and a cushion cover, both of which I love and never would have gotten myself.

last year: jack shit, couldn't go anywhere because public transport was killed by covid

this year: well, i've booked a fortnight off around it (as usual) but... probably exactly the same

Did they *deliberately* write Allison as awful as possible this last season? I get her grief and her pain, but they really took it to some nasty places....

To the anon who posted about Noragami yesterday:

(Anonymous) 2022-07-07 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I’m so sorry I didn’t get back to you yesterday!! I hadn’t chekcked back into F!S since then, so I completely missed it!

I was the one who recommended Noragami, along with another anon, and I’m so happy you love it too!

For some more recs: I think Bungou Stray Dogs, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, Rin-ne, Blue Exorcist, Kekkaishi, and Toilet Bound Hanako-kun are good for the supernatural elements. Yona of the Dawn and Snow White with the Red Hair are really cute shoujo romance manga/anime, with Yona also having action.
As for manga/anime I like, but aren’t necessarily like Noragami, I’ve recently gotten into Castle Town Dandelion and Yuri is my Job, the first is a comedy and the other is more of a drama. Spy x Family and Kaguya-sama: Love is War are great comedy manga that I’m loving right now. My Next Life as a Villainess has great manga and anime adaptations if light novels aren’t your thing. And I’m also into older manga and anime, both from my childhood and before, if you like retro! I really love From Eroica with Love, a great 70s manga! I recently got back into Ranma 1/2, which I loved when I was younger, and I also got back into Urusei Yatsura from the same author (who also wrote Rin-ne, not to mention Inuyasha) in hype for the upcoming anime reboot. I also always love Sailor Moon in any form! And I still love pretty much all manga by CLAMP, no matter how many problems some of the manga have(I’m looking at you, Tsubasa!). Tokyo Mew Mew is a cute fluffy magical girl manga, which has a new anime adaptation as well as an older one from the 2000s.
And lastly, If you like horror, I’m into Otherside Picnic right now.

You might have heard of or read some of these, but I figured I would still put them just in case! Hopefully you can find something else you like in these! :)
