He did and the film even lampshades it at one point but to be honest, I kinda forgive everything about it as this film was clearly Daniel Craig wanting to have fun and signal that he's more than just depressed!James Bond.

The rest of the cast too are just...having a lot of fun? Like, even Chris Evans who I don't particularly consider a strong actor was having fun getting to play an arsehole.

It's part of the reason I'm annoyed there's now a sequel and pressure for it to be a "universe" actually because there was so much about the first film that seemed to come along at the perfect time. That said, I did sort of like the suggestion I saw ages ago that Daniel Craig should just use a different accent every time without explanation.
