Just give it a try. Personally my first fanfiction I've ever written was for an RPF ship as well. As someone who writes RPF still up to this day every now and then, I can tell you, that the guilt will vanish.

It's still funny, that this guilt came to be just with my current RPF ship and not when I wrote a lot of RPF over a decade ago.

I delve into RPF at times, OP. Even written a few fics that, yes, that detailed plot. It saddens me that RPF is so terribly received, when the vast majority of writers know that it's all fantasy and aren't tin hats.You do you, OP and have fun!

Go for it, OP! One of my fandoms had that problem, so I wrote a fic where my two faves take some time to get to know each other romantically before jumping in bed together. It's been a couple of years since I've written RPF, but the way I got over my embarrassment was by telling myself that I was shipping the stage personas and not the actual people.

OH This has been me in the fandom that I recently got into - although I did find one fic that was an AU and got obsessed, looking through the tags for more only to find just porn or crossovers with other youtubers that made me feel weird.

But yeah OP, sometimes you've gotta be the change yo wanna see when it comes to fanfics - if you do get to write it I wish you well on your endeavors!
