I desperately want to know if my Catholic high school English teacher, who was extremely Catholic himself, who let us do Children of Eden for the school play was deliberately being heretical or just thought "Hey the kids love Wicked! And here's one about God!" and for obvious "he still works at my Catholic high school" reasons, I cannot ask.

It's just...he could have just done Godspell.
