(Anonymous) 2022-07-15 03:04 am (UTC)(link)tbh, I'm more familiar with class ranks through Fire Emblem and Dragon Age, but your classifications are really on point! Especially since he was like an actual arms dealer makes the class doubly appropriate!

(Anonymous) 2022-07-15 03:17 am (UTC)(link)Does he really follow the 'advanced as magic' standard though? I mean, I sorta tilted my head a bit at Hulk being named a druid, but once I thought about it I kinda like it. I'm not all that well-versed in the WoW class system, but I do have some outside/similar understanding of it. Like Fire Emblem has a Berserker class which I would call Hulk along with a Druid. If only because his powers are associated with an occasional uncontrollable type of unreplicated science.
Ironman can mass produce his suit, give basically anyone his powers- so I wouldn't say it's so advanced or unique that it can be called magic?
Particularly /because and if only/ die to the fact real actual magicians and even Mutants exist in the Marvel Universe. Even the mana gem iconography would be more specified to like Vision or the Mary Popins guy from GOTG? (but then again I don't follow the Avengers enough to know that quite right, so for all I know he got a Wally West type power-up where his draws his power from some fantastical source despite being one of the most science specific comics otherwise??)
I thought he made his own mechanical heart, but then didn't need it anymore? So the suit (which is essentially his power) runs on a separate powersource-like battery not his own self sustenance?

(Anonymous) 2022-07-15 03:59 am (UTC)(link)If we're going by magic, Cap shouldn't be a paladin either, because paladins in WoW use holy magic and have mana. Cap should be a Protection Warrior with a very good shield.
There's not really 'crafting' classes, as Engineering in WoW is a separate tradeskill that anyone can learn. So Tony would definitely be an Engineer as a tradeskill, and probably a Blacksmith as well, but Warrior (rage-based) as his class makes no sense whatsoever.
Idk it's hard to have a conversation with someone who is unfamiliar with the class system the conversation is about

(Anonymous) 2022-07-15 04:49 am (UTC)(link)Interesting! I guess what I'm stuck at is that gaining rage is technically the most human based natured class? (aside from being a fully human type BW or Arrowguy) I looked up the most basic definition of the classes as per the WoW site, (which I know can be very much deceiving in the whole picture of things;;) and I can't help but associate it with an alturistic standpoint, I think.
Like how Banner is Druid, both because of his mystical science, but also because his science itself was to replicate Cap's serum as a technical commodity to become a super soldier that he tested on himself. So Steve, as I understand, is to be of a Paladin ranking if only because he was chosen rather than volunteering himself, so a holy type magic by being given some no-name serum, even though it technically doesn't derive from his own strenght, which, in the same stance that Hulk is magic based, Cap is the same if only due to the sci-fi narrative of the science they use??
Tony has a whole group of people, a whole company and then some, to buid his equipment. An enterprise built before he was even born. So I supposed some magical destiny could exist within him per birth, it seems his actions are more or less directed towards his own establishment rather than outside cause. Like his heart exists only to save his own life, and he /can/ replicate his suit so he's not in the same category as Thor or any of the other Magic dealers due to the existential aspect magic users typically have.
Perhaps more of a Warlock or Monk type then? Depending on the era I guess? Monk because he healed himself/can give aid to others and has that technical range of magic but it isn't emphasized, or Warlock if y'want to go full magic and defeating death type idea?
You are right though, I'm conflating wayy too many of the archetypes here to know what I'm talking about;; But I really do love the thought process of the whole thing!
