I do see your point.

I think it works for In Character reasons though. Allison:

1. carries a lot of guilt about basically ignoring 7 when they were kids
2. IS making everything in season 3 about her, and,
3. is kind of a dick? often a well-meaning dick, but she wasn't divorced for no reason, so...

(I'm not damning her specifically. All of the UA kids are flawed individuals, that's part of the story.)

Also, it's One (1) conversation, which also lets Victor, as a proxy for Eliott Page, talk about his feelings on the matter.

4. Even if Viktor had known before, his siblings have had, what, a week to actually get to know him as a person after ignoring him (and each other, to be fair) their entire lives? The Hargreeves are hardly the most interpersonally-aware family, and especially distant with Viktor.

Agreed.

Also, there are pragmatic issues at work here. I would have liked to watch Viktor's journey play out more gradually, but that's not really what the season or the show is about, and they had to address it fairly quickly, using shorthand, and keep everything in-character. Having each of the siblings react differently, and Allison making it all about her, makes the best use of the run time they have.
