I've come to dread fandom jokes. Someone makes a joke, it is off the wall, and a bit funny, self-aware or self-deprecating, and that is fine. Then some damn humorless pedant nerd takes it seriously and the next thing you know the fandom is burning down around your ears because some asshole doesn't know how a gag works.
