I really want tv shows to go back to the old 20-26 episodes per year model instead of the 8-13 model, I feel like I am just getting into a show now and it is over. I never get a sense for the characters these days, the seasons are so brief.

Agreed. I know they're unlikely to go back to that formula but I preferred it. It gave everything more time to breathe and grow.

Absolutely. Like, I know people bitched about filler episodes, but there's such a difference between an episode created specifically to evolve/explore a character and an episode made to fill up episode count. I feel we still get the latter even with the limited count and everything else is smushed into wayy too short a time.
