Too many show-writers right now are too motivated by hiding the twist instead of letting the characters drive the story. It keeps on resulting in characters making decisions which make no sense once the twist is revealed.

Tell me about it. I kind of hate shows where it's a plot twist-fest. What is gained by being smarter than the audience outside of the initial cathartic "I did NOT see that coming"?
