I am eternally obsessed with the trope of a supernatural character whose inhuman nature is a secret, but when a human they feel attached to is in sudden mortal peril, the supernatural character outs themselves in an instant to protect that person, consequences be damned.

The parking lot accident scene from Twilight is probably the most obvious example of this, and I unironically love that scene, but my favorite instance of it is in the first episode of Roswell, where Max heals Liz at the diner. Gah, just inject that shit straight into my veins pls and thnx.

S!B - Other people don’t seem to be suckers for this trope the way I am, plus the main examples I can think of are from media that isn’t particularly good.

(For the record, it doesn’t have to be boy-saves-girl. I like this trope in all gender configurations.)
