Yeah monetizing fanworks is shady sonetimes but this "True art is done for the PASSION!!"
bullshit is why many artists are starving artists.

This. I'm all for people monetizing their original works and in fact I frequently commission art of my OCs to support artists I like. I'm not cool with people turning fan content into a moneymaker.

Too bad people care more about fandom art than original. That's the literal conundrum. You want to do art for a living. No one really pays attention to your original art. But they sure will pay attention to the fandom art you do...
