I tend to be at a crossroads with this. IMO Fanwork should be free. But at the same time, we live in a capitalistic world that's very unkind to independent work, the working class, and a lot of socioeconomic things also come into play. If you gotta sell your art, even if it's just fan drawings or fics, to make more cash or to have some sort of career in this fucked up world, I won't stop anyone from giving it a try.
