same, as an ex-christian all I want is the non-varnished truth of the historical record, whether that's archaeology, linguistics, written record, anthropological record, oops we accidentally left a written record of our scams and corruption, etc. which is why I don't trust 99% of the documentaries because they're trying to get more views by leaving the conclusion ambigious or thinly-veiling whether or not a supernatural being existed. fuck off with that shit, it's as equally offensive as any documentary that ends "did the aliens really visit?" NO THEY DID NOT.

Oh lordy I hate the "ancient aliens" bullshit with a passion.

Youtube can be a good source if you ignore the ridiculous documentaries and find lecture courses from actual academics at legitimate institutions. There's a great Yale course on Introduction to the Hebrew Bible. It made so many things make so much more sense to me!

If someone wants to claim Aliens did X, then they better be prepared to produced either an actual alien or at very least a definitively identifiable piece of alien tech to support their claim. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs.
