I just thought of another one: Dr. Strange. He's such a gaping asshole to begin with that his origin story is basically a redemption arc, and it's a good one.

I don't think he was that bad? I mean, for a surgeon. My dickhead of a brother is a doctor and he's kinda like that.

I don't think he's any worse than, say, Tony Stark before he went through Afghanistan.

NAYRT - Yeah, I adore Tony, but I would very strongly argue that, before Afghanistan, he was much, much worse than Strange. A truly massive amount of death and destruction was brought about by weapons SI manufactured and sold, and while he is not directly responsible for those deaths, he absolutely bears some degree of indirect responsibility for them.

Strange was mostly just insensitive and deeply self-interested.
