What is the smallest fandom you are in?

probably COD: Black Ops 3

everyone has pretty much forgotten about that game (except for its zombies I guess) and I very rarely see any new posts about it on tumblr.

Sapphire & Steel, definitely. There are only 449 fics on AO3 and 159 on FFN. Every so often I do a rewatch and write like 3 or 4 oneshots and they hang around on the front page of AO3 for a year.

Legend of the Seeker, which isn't an active fandom anymore.

Blame the original writer for that, he went the JK Rowling route of tanking his own fandom.

The tv show is completely different from the books, and the tv show fandom didn't pay any attention to the books.

Idlewild, by Nick Sagan

It's a book fandom from years ago, never big to start off with, and hard to pitch description-wise (the main character wakes up with amnesia and then there's several sharp turns from there), but me and maybe three other people read it during our formative years and that was that

Soo I am not gonna completely out myself here, but around 13 years ago I watched this one-cour-long unpopular anime series and fell in love ; its manga had been partly released in English before the publishing company shut down, and I assume its sales weren't astounding since no other company picked it. Which isn't surprising, because its art was hideous for the first 5 volumes or so, thus the English release barely got to the good-art-arc. The story is... unique and Full of subversions and I suppose not all fans of the genre enjoy its comedy. The author had another manga that was turned into anime a few years later, and that one was much more popular (among creeps) so, even though their previous work (the one I enjoyed) felt like it had much more heart and the world-building was a lot more complex they kinda ... stopped prioritizing it.

For the past decade my online nickname has been the name of the MC - which I cosplayed - and made some other fanworks for it, and I am a big part of the fandom only because it's so small and I am in many more fandoms with that nickname. Being That Multifandom Bitch who occasionally can't shut up about one piece of media I was That Ripple for a significant percentage of fans (in other words, 3 to 5 people lol). Recently the fanlisting, which I made graphics for, that had been carefully updated every month with "no new members" for the past 10 years shut down without a sound and I am sad that I couldn't adopt it because I am pretty sure we will never have the names of 13 (!) fans of it anywhere else.

So, that's the one. And I really do love that series. Ironically the Eng DVD box set was released 8 years after the anime, just before the streaming boom, then it was released ON HIDIVE and the trailer was only uploaded to YouTube like 4 years later at the beginning of the pandemic soo ... Weird choices and I wonder if my endless screaming ever gave any marketing researcher the wrong idea about its popularity lol.

I love the franchise, and I love the character herself even more so, but it's so hard to find (good) content of her outside of fanart on pixiv.

ugh same. I'm in the code geass fandom and its so hard trying to find fanart of it besides recycled ecchi stuff of Kallen everyone has seen a billion times.

I think I almost watched black rock shooter a few years ago but never did for some reason. It looks super cool, I'm definitely gonna check it out!

Is it? Have you been in it for a long time? I still have my old Code Geass art hoarding folder for whatever reason and at least back then there were a LOT of fanartists for the bishounen characters.

I mean there is a good amount of art out there but its a bit hard to find it. I've been in the fandom for about a year now so obviously I didn't see it in its glory days.

Charlie the Unicorn. I was able to contribute 2 fics and wanted to aim to push the amount of fics to 20 (there's currently 18), but I got stuck on the fic I was working on and have been procrastinating from finishing it for 2 months.

A lot of podcasts. But mostly We're Alive. If that came out today, the fandom would be huge.

Strange Girl (comic). I'd love porn for it but I'd have to be the one to make it since there is no active fandom for it online.

I’m pretty sure Klonoa has a smaller European-descent fan base than its Japanese one.

a very obscure cartoon from the 60's.

One so small that I am the only content creator for it, and to name it would be to out me.
