I hate that it is so hard to find a white shirt that isn't see-through. I need a white shirt by mid-August because we have to wear one for office photo day. But there is a reason I don't already own one. It is almost impossible to find a non-see-through one, at least when you are a fat woman.

Could you get a camisole in a color similar to your skintone to wear underneath? That's what I do when things are see-through. I know layers aren't ideal in a lot of places right now because of the heat, but maybe you could take another shirt to change into after the photo is taken?

I FEEL YOU
I also for some reason hate white/beige underwear and I don't own any. So every white piece of clothing is going to be see-through

An offwhite or light grey undershirt will mimic your skin tone and make it look more like a shirt color. A thin undershirt will reduce the lines at the arms, neckline, etc.

A denser weave will make it harder to see through. Oxford is thicker, twill or sateen is usually denser than plain weave, but it really depends, and this changes the style.

A slightly off-white shirt, like a pearl white can make it harder to see your skin. If you have a very hard, pure white, you can wash them with your colors (look up how to do this so you don't ruin your shirts). It'll turn a hard white into a soft white.

Also -- and this is more a tip from friends over the years -- go looking for where the local service industry people get their clothes (usually there is atleast one local store that carter that way) because white button-downs are popular among servers and are usually a sturdier quality.

Oh god this was me last year when I wanted a white shirts to customize some designs on - I only got somewhere where I found some men's shirts that weren't see-through; but the necks were uncomfortably higher than I was used to and so I went through trying to alter the neckline which didn't go well.

I can't stand the way I look in white or the fact that white clothes get dirty if you so much as look at them so the only solid white clothes I own are a couple of bras and a couple of pairs of socks.

Maybe try men's shirts? They are sometimes made of thicker material.
