I know nothing about this show, but is it... necessary to find them attractive? Does the plot hinge on the cast being hot enough to melt steel or something? Is it a mediocre show only worth watching if one finds the eye candy appealing?

There's sex scenes and romance is the focus. I wouldn't read a fic where I don't care for the shipped characters.
