According to the internet, you can't get a mistrial in a civil case due to a bad attorney. The reason he has a bad one is because he has gone through like 9 for this trial.

Yes, that makes sense. And I didn't mean he would try for a mistrial. No, that isn't possible. I'm wondering if he'll try to blame the attorney in the court of public opinion and if that was his intent. But him also not being able to retain an actually decent attorney also makes total sense.

Even in a criminal trial, "my lawyer was supposed to hide the fact that I committed multiple acts of perjury" isn't grounds for a mistrial.
