philstar22: (ATLA: Azula power)

No. Just no. I really strongly disagree with everything about this secret. And I'm really not sure where you even got this interpretation, TBH.

I felt like Zuko had to work to win over Mai. I also think that Azula and Mai friendship was very one sided so I'd not call it stabbing in the back.

Mai didn't just betray Azula because of Zuko. She already didn't want to work for Azula, and having Zuko just gave her the courage to finally stand up to her. "I love Zuko more than I fear you." You know what toxic friends do? Make you afraid to stand up to them. I don't have context for the Mai/Zuko fight, and that text is too small to read, but I'm going to assume similar mental gymnastics on your part are going on there.

Damn, I don't even like Mai and look what you made me do.

I can just barely read the text:

Zuko: I know I keep screwing up, but, please...I...I love you, Mai.

Mai: I know, but lately I've realized that you love your secrets more. You'll have an easier time keeping them when you're alone.

Zuko: What are you telling me?

Mai: Goodbye, Fire Lord.

Zuko: Mai! come back! I--I--I ORDER YOU TO COME BACK!

...I fail to see how this scene paints Mai in a bad light. Sounds like Zuko was off the rails and she has a backbone after Azula.
