I actually prefer 8-13 ep seasons as they tend to have better arcs (but I’m British so that’s what I grew up with - idk why British tv doesn’t do long series)

I think 10-13 is about right. 22-26 often has filler, and 6-8 often doesn't get seem like enough time.

modern tv isn't meant to be watched on tv over an extended period, it's meant to be inhaled in a weekend on netflix

Oh no, I grew up on British TV so 6-8 episodes is my sweet spot. 13 is okay. Longer than that and you just get so much filler (on anything plot-based, I guess sitcoms can run on that model ok, but I don't like them for other reasons).

See, I'm the opposite: I watch so many more shows these days because it's a lot easier to carve out time for an 8-13 episode show than a 20-26 episode one. If I'm watching it as it airs, 20-26 episodes at one episode a week drags things out way too long and I start to lose interest/forget what happened in earlier episodes. If I'm planning to binge it, I can do an 8-13 episode series in a weekend, but a 20-26 episode one will probably take two weekends or maybe even three. 8-13 is really the sweet spot for me.

Alas, they did. And I hated it. After all Klyden did, to his family and to at least one other innocent bystander, in the name of his bigotry, I feel they let him off too easy and gave forgiveness too readily. I was ready to forgive the Kaylons more than Klyden.
