I haven't made fanvids in forever but I used to just look up specific scenes online (both on YT and other sites like torrenting sites) and download them from there.

For software, I used to use Openshot but now it refuses to work on my laptop lmao, but its free and opensource and has a pretty good amount of features. If mobile devices are your preferred hardwar, I recommend Capcut or Vivacut.
