I think it really depends on the kind of anime you consume. I'm not up to date on EVERY anime out there, but I'll always recommend Dororo (came out a few years ago). There's of course, some classics from the early 2000s and before. There's some really good historical ones (I'm thinking of the Immortal Swordsman). Even some that focus on the youth without being too trope filled/the kind that make you roll your eyes.

Even my more recent faves of JJK and Demon Slayer, while having their silly moments, and typical trope filled moments, imo still are shows I'd recommend. Spy x Family hits a bunch of tropes without being...tedious(?) about it,in my opinion. It's self aware and cute and plays on that.
