Toward the end of it, 2001 was the year I entered my final year of compulsory schooling in the UK and I hated school for so many reasons (I was fine academically but most people at my school, including way too many teachers, seemed to HATE that) so...it's not a great year or overall era for me personally. And that's before you touch the world news stuff, which is undoubtedly even more fucked up.
