Its actually kind of interesting is that it was considered, by Neil Gaiman, to ask Tom Ellis to be on The Sandman because he had played Lucifer all ready but then decided against it because he didn't want to get into the hassle of work of making it all make sense (since that Lucifer is alot more mellow compared to what a stressed out king of hell version he would have been).

And honestly - kudos to him. Gwendolyn Christie did a fantastic job.
