I didn't know how bad it can be until I briefly dabbled in a huge fandom with a rarepair that I was obsessed with for a time. The huge fandom has a lot of issues but the corner where the rarepair gets a couple of fics or fanarts every few months is filled with nice anons and familiar named accounts coming in to support each other's works. Generally, everyone is there to enjoy what they like.
Turn around to my small fandoms and no matter what anyone does it's like everyone has to bitch about someone insulting someone or some pair is problematic or the writers of the shows hate the fans. I just...cannot understand how people want to spend so much time hating the very fandom they choose to be in. Guess I'm past my hater phase.
