I'm not even a punk (more on the goth side of alt, although was always too broke), but I always felt the true punk was "fuck the system, I'm tired of it. I'm (presumably) going to do something about it."

Which I'm really about, except I have commitment issues, so good luck punks!

Also, just want to complain a bit -- I get annoyed with people labeling certain DIY things punk, because that's quite frankly right in line with things poor people have historically been doing fir AGES, before punk as we know it, and as a proper result of the system. To be fair, I apply this to whenever someone calls poor people ingenuity to keep shit together ghetto, trashy -- apply the proper context and you'll get the word to describe people making things work with whatever they've got on hand because there isn't enough money to make it work in any other way.
