would you become a vampire?

Which supernatural thing *would* you be OK with being, or would you want to encounter?

Depends on what kind of vampire. I'm not giving up garlic bread.

TBH I think garlic bread isn't *that* much better than other forms of toasted bread with olive-oil-y delicious sauces

The important thing is the toasted bread and the olive oil and the flavor-y stuff in general, not the garlic specifically. And vampires can still have all that.

You will pry garlic out of my cold, dead, vampiric hands.

I already kind of think I may be a dryad or some other plant creature, since eating actual food doesn't work well for me but I do feel mildly better if I'm outside getting sunshine.

Vampire, no way. Blood is gross and I don't want to be immortal. Kind of want to be the opposite of immortal.

Fuck that, being immortal would suck.

But if I *had* to partake in a supernatural class, I'd probably just pick an element to casually play with like fire or ice.

I mean if you're bored of being immortal as a vampire, you can always go watch the sunrise, or whatever

Absolutely 100% never want to be immortal. (Don't want to give up garlic, either.)

I'd like to have magical witch powers, though.

Yup. I'd love to be a vamp. Or a dragon.

I grit my teeth just to get through my life now, no way in hell do I want to be immortal.

Taking into account that I am pale (due to anemia no less), love dark rooms (due to migraines), gothic aesthetic, struggle with hypersensitivity and would certainly die if I had a wooden stake pressed to my chest, I like to think I am close enough already. But I am thankfully a mortal which is a good thing. So no.

Encountering any friendly supernatural thing would probably be okay though? But... nah.

Hell yeah, being a vampire would be awesome--with the stipulations that: 1. I don't lose my conscience or my sense of self, 2. I don't have to kill people to survive, and 3. I'm in control of who I turn.

This is fair. Being immortal and rich (I mean, anybody alive that long becomes rich via interest and holding on to real estate) sound great, but I’m too ethical to kill anybody or turn anyone against their will.

I don’t care much about sunlight and prefer night skies, so that’s fine. Super strength and never getting sick sound great.

AYRT - I have a circadian rhythm disorder and was basically nocturnal up until last year when I got medicated and shifted my sleep-wake cycle five hours earlier. So ironically, while the prospect of being fully nocturnal would've sounded like a tremendous relief to me two years ago, I now view it as the one very serious down-side to becoming a vampire. I have fought too long and hard to become a semi-morning person, and now that I've achieved it, I don't want to give it up, damnit. XD

Still worth it, though, to stay relatively young and healthy for as long as I want, and probably have super strength, too.

Yeah, that's the kind of vampire I'd want to be, too. Being able to still eat food and walk in the sun would be a nice bonus, though.

I'd be a vampire or whatever if I could make my spouse one too. We'd put black out curtains in the basement and take night shifts and idk I'd start working in a blood bank to get human blood right before it expired. Or we could be werewolves together and just get big ass crates in the basement if we couldn't keep ourselves from attacking people or pets while shifted.

I wouldn't ever want to meet a supernatural creature in a way that makes it clear the creature is supernatural, you know? I don't ever wanted to get bitten by a vampire or tricked by a fey or tempted by a siren but if one of them was like a coworker or whatever that's fine.

Yes, being immortal or semi-immortal is the only way I'm going to be able to do all of the things I want to do in my life.
The only trouble is I don't want to live at the expense of other people, so if killing is a must to survive as a vampire I'd have to say 'well, that was an interesting experience and I'll have to be satisfied' and eat the garlic bread.
