Before 2020 I was learning to swim as an adult and one of the things that helped was the anime Free!
I learned to float and how to do a backstroke because of the episode they were giving advice to each other and because Makoto is my favorite character.

Chef Jacques Pepin has a wonderful series that ran on PBS TV that's nothing but how-to cooking techniques and skills, and I learned more watching that than any other cooking show. Its so good and he is such a good teacher that I recommend it highly for anyone who wants to learn how to cook OR sharpen the skills you already have.

Lately, I've been watching art videos that basically tell me that not every drawing has to be perfect. It helps my OCD, perfectionist brain to just say "It's just a sketch, don't worry about it" instead of worrying and fretting over every, little drawing.

I'm in so much pain I honestly thought for a second that if I crashed my car I might actually be able to get some pain relief.

I also almost yelled at my boss today, but I managed to contain it. He was being a little annoying, but normally it would just blow over me. But right now? Everything is irritating.

I've only had the mouthguard 3 days, so I don't know if I should have seen some improvement yet. But I'm almost out of the muscle relaxer I'm supposed to be taking 2x a day but am taking 3 and still in agony.

I'm starting to even lose excitement about my upcoming vacation at the end of the week. Going to be hard to enjoy it in this much pain.

I honestly don't know what to do at this point.

Lots of pain. It's a good thing I made myself eat a fun-size KitKat this morning because my guts really don't seem to be willing to let anything into them since then. Or willing to let me move. So yay for not having to use the bathroom too.

But making good progress editing another fic, I think I'm going to scrap the last bits I wrote in the last session and start from scratch at a certain point.

I'm a fucking DYNAMO today lol.

I woke up this morning and after I'd fed my dog and put out the feeder for the birds I heard a big commotion outside, there was a very skinny and matted black cat on the fence, poor boy. The crows didn't like him on the fence. He wasn't too scared of me when I offered him some dry dog food but he wouldn't let me pet him. He ate all the dog food I gave him then disappeared. I think he might have "belonged" to a neighbor who recently passed away; the house is currently undergoing serious renovation and I've seen this cat in that yard before. I will continue to feed him but I hope he doesn't hurt the birds.

After I finished my coffee this morning (my husband bought a Keurig and its sooooooo nice), I went for a run. I'd been slacking lately and it felt good to run again! I came home and showered and went to the grocery store. I've switched grocery stores so I'm getting used to a new place, its kinda fun as the new store is much bigger and better stocked. All the groceries on my list and then some (omg they have those jelly fruit slices, I love those stupid things lol). I stopped by the vet on the way home and picked up my pup's meds (pup has arthritis but is doing well with meds), then picked up a classic iced milk tea from my favorite tea shop.

I'm getting ready to cook dinner (pork chops with sauteed lemon-garlic spinach, homemade banana pudding for dessert). Gonna step out onto my patio and smoke a bowl first. Hope you all have as good a day as I had!

Came down with a flu-ish thing so have been a bit miserable. Also spent a lot of time trying to deflect a neighbourhood cat from the house. Started as him just popping in to steal a bit of food which I could tolerate but I found pee in two places this morning and he just chased one of our (much younger/smaller) cats through the house. >:(

Okay I guess. Might be seeing my old boss tomorrow, and I need to be making a decision whether to go back to my old job or decide for good that I'm never going back. I miss it so much but apparently a lot of things are different there now and I'm not sure if I want to give it another shot to see how I feel about the changes or just let it go while I still have good memories.

Do you prefer keyboard emoji's or the image options?

I think I'm always going to prefer the keyboard ones myself because I've been including it since my early days on livejournal doing these: >_< o_O ^_^
But I'm more of a :D person - which makes me annoyed when you get it changed to an automatic image since most of the time I'm left thinking 'That's the wrong emotion for :)'

Definitely a mix. For mostly everywhere I type on my computer/laptop I use keyboard ones (except discord because there's some cute channel specific ones), but when I text it's a mix of both depending on whom I am texting.

Also when I can be bothered to look for the websites, I like the Japanese emoticons (I mostly use them for tumblr and deviantart tbh)

I don’t do emojis here or on LJ, just in text, email, FB, etc. so I’m so used to it getting changed that it would be odd to me if it didn’t. The non picture kind look very old and outdated to me like it’s 1995 and I’m on mIRC via my tenth AOL trial talking to my friends about going to see Hackers.
