Yeah, my mother and her SO both drive under the influence. They don't drive wasted, but they drive after several beers. Not as much anymore, because they've both had their licenses suspended before, but they used to do it all the time, and they still do occasionally. Now they mostly just stay in so they can drink beer and not have to risk suspensions.

It's how I finally realized they are alcoholics, even though they rarely get drunk; because if going out means they can't drink their beers, they avoid going out.

I hate it, but I can't stop them.
