I don't like the vibe as compared to LJ/DW/tumblr (or even twitter) fandom. It's like it looks like a place I should feel at home but is subtly different in enough ways that I feel like I'm in a mirror verse.

I get that feeling. I have one fandom where I'm a member of a Discord server that is full of chill, fun people; and while it's tiny on Tumblr most of the people there seem to be fine and having fun; and then I am also on the subreddit and ... it gets kinda bro-y at times, for lack of a better word.
