Skincare Help?

Is there any way I can improve the ways my pores look on my face? I have huge pores on my nose and cheeks. Any serums? Laser/peeling treatments? I am willing to drop coin on it but I don't know where to start. If I can improve with serums or creams I will give those a try before going to a dermatologist to ask about expensive treatments.

From what I understand of the science, you can't change the size of your pores. The best way, without throwing your money at a bunch of stuff that doesn't work, is to go straight to a dermatologist with your concerns. They have no financial incentive to have you buy expensive serums, and will tell you straight out if nothing can be done.

Have you tried blackhead removal strips? You can get them from the chemist, they're like... sticky plaster you put on your nose, leave for five minutes, and when you pull it away a lot of embedded gunge comes with them.

They won't necessarily shrink the pores, but they'll end up with a softer, smoother appearance.

And they're a cheap thing to try.

Don't use any of those blackhead removal strips or masks. Those strip away too much of the oils that your skin and pores actually need to stay healthy. They can even make your pores larger and more visible.

I was having a lot of trouble with blackheads and larger looking pores and then I found a face cleanser that was appropriate for my skin type. Just cleaning and moisturising once or twice a week has very quickly and noticeably reduced the amount of blackheads and visibility of my pores.

Use a daily facial cleanser that contains salicylic acid. You can also use a pore strip like the anon above suggested to get rid of the stuff that's clogging them now and then use the daily cleanser after that to keep them clear. Dietary changes might also help like consuming less dairy and sugary soft drinks.

If you have the money, just go to a dermatologist.
